Oslo in Norway is a beautiful and interesting city where the cold temperatures are banished with a warm welcome. At the heart of the city the Vigeland park is an inspiring respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Consisting of 192 sculptures, the park has to be seen to be believed. Figures are everywhere, each distinctive from the next.
Towards the centre of the park, a giant monolith towers above the open space. 46 feet high and consisting of 121 figures the monolith is a writhing mass of bodies and it is easy to be so impressed by the whole, that the subtle detail is missed.
