Orange cactus flower

Orange cactus flower

11th November 2006

I really must start writing down the names of flowers whenever I can, because when I come to write this text I get slightly embarassed that I don't know any of the names of the flora I've been photographing. Perhaps that's a New Year's resolution.

I do know, however, that this goregous orange flower was a cactus bloom located in the desert zone of Edinburgh's botanic gardens. Surprisingly the petals only span a couple of centimetres and this bloom was next to hundreds the same.
