It was an overcast and slightly dreary day in Crummackdale, Yorkshire when we went to visit the Norber boulders. These unusual "erratics" cover a large field atop a hill having been deposited thousands of years ago by one of the glaciers that turned Yorkshire into the fantastic place it is today.
Now, you've probably noticed that there is not a large collection of boulders in this photograph, as the grey bland skyline didn't inspire me to take a typical landscape shot. With no shot in the bag, I descended the hill back to the car, and spotted this beautiful view of the dry stone walls receding into the distance. As I carefully climbed a giant boulder with 15 kilos of camera gear, a couple of sheep came to take a look and provided the perfect focal point for the image.
