I must confess to not being interested in plants, and therefore not familiar with what I am looking at, but I do appreciate the beautiful and strange  'landscape' a plant can present. So, apologies to anyone who would like to know what kind of plant this is.

The Edinburgh botanic gardens are a great spot to visit on a rainy day and are packed full of unusual flora. Armed with a macro lens it is easy to while away several hours looking at detail that is normally walked past in the briefest of moments.
