It is about a two and a half hour (barring traffic jams) drive from Edinburgh to Lochan na h-Achlaise and undaunted by the bleak Edinburgh sky I decided to brave the journey just in case it was better up north.

Unfortunately it wasn't so a different approach was required!  I decided simplicity was the order of the day and overexposed the shot slightly to give a minimal Japanese feel which I thought would emphasise the bleakness of the landscape.

After a mere hour and checking a couple of other locations, I headed home as the rain started pouring and the mist drew in.
