Barns Ness lighthouse

Barns Ness lighthouse

30th April 2003

The lighthouse shining at the bottom of this lovely undulating field nestles very close to Torness nuclear power station (or Tornobyl as my friend calls it)  I had spotted this scene on a previous trip to the area and knew it would make a superb black and white shot.  Luckily on this day the sun was casting lovely deep shadows and the sky was dark and broody above.

Although I am a staunch film fanatic, this is a scan straight from the negative.  Hopefully I'll get into the darkroom soon to do a huge print of it for the wall.
