My first (photographic) trip to Blackness castle was a bit of a disappointment. A friend and I had headed off at 5am and as frequently happens the sky was cloudy and to be honest, the river Forth isn't the most attractive stretch of water I can think of.

Undeterred I have since returned several times and taken a reasonable number of the kind of picture I hoped we would get that cold morning.
