Bow Fiddle Rock, Moray

Bow Fiddle Rock, Moray

13th March 2003

I almost turned back before taking this set of shots near Portnockie in Morayshire. It was a freezing cold morning and the surrounding cliffs were looming out of the darkness - very intimidating. Getting up so early spurred me on though and I descended into the gloom. As the sun slowly came up the the light illuminated this beautiful seascape.

By strange coincidence my mother noticed a calendar competition featuring historic Moray which closed that week. I quickly submitted a print and was delighted to find out they wanted to feature it as October's photograph.
