Perhaps it was because I had visited a modern art gallery and been viewing photographs where the artist had been "creatively inspired", taking very minimal shots, that I felt this rather far away composition would work.
My partner and I had walked through this park in Düsseldorf earlier in the day and had admired the impressive avenue; it was only in the evening when my friend and I returned for some night photography that I realised that the seats were made of light tubes. He had already scoped out this area as a good night location and it didn't disappoint.
I remember a very talented photographer telling me that some landscape photography is just picture taking. Although I was horrified at the time I guess he was right; a photograph will often be better if it tells a story. I'll leave you to come up with your own interpretation of this scene.
