Having too many good locations available is almost as problematic as none at all. On my last trip to the Banffshire coastline I ventured out with the intention on photographing Sunnyside beach, a relatively secluded location but as the sun dipped down I realised I would struggle to reach the shore in time. I had to choose between Findlater castle, an impressive ruin perched on a crumbling clifftop, the beach itself and hope to quickly find a good spot, or Findlater doocot just south of the castle. So I chose the castle and shot off a few frames before deciding to return to the car and managed to pass the doocot just as twighlight was starting and managed to get this shot with the moon descending behind.
The doocot is a behive shape and was constructed in the 16th century.
And I'll get Sunnyside beach next summer!
