Glass reflections on Loch Voil

Glass reflections on Loch Voil

17th April 2003

When I stopped at this spot I originally was looking in amazement in the other direction (see the photo with the reeds and tree) When I turned round I was speechless. I don't remember ever seeing such a beautiful scene. The water was like glass - not a single ripple. I had to have equipment slowly passed to me as I was standing slightly in the water so as not to create my own ripples!  Many thanks to my eternally patient partner Kate, who tidied little bits of stray grass from the foreground to make the shot perfect (or as close as I could get!)  I returned to this spot in the evening to catch the low glow of the sun but the feeling was entirely different. I had made the right choice taking my photo then, even though the light was at its most contrasty.
