On a previous trip to visit friends in the Lake District (this wall is near Buttermere) I had visited this exact spot with a Hasselblad 553ELX and bags of enthusiasm and yet failed to capture a good shot of all the amazing colours and textures in this scene. Nearly a year later I am really happy that my shot came out as intended (albeit with a little bit of a close focussing issue) and I have that sense of progress that is really important to keep you motivated.
I had to crop the shot to [almost] square to emulate the original Hasselblad format and I still owe a massive debt of thanks to Martin who I hope will be pleased that I haven't forgotten that square can sometimes be good!
